GULFPORT, Miss. — Attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund reached a favorable settlement agreement with the City of Wiggins Monday in the case Wallace v. City of Wiggins.  The agreement allows the plaintiffs, Shannon Wallace and Wesley Sewell, to preach along public ways in Wiggins as long as no ordinances or laws are violated.

"We are pleased the parties were able to come to an agreement which allows the plaintiffs to exercise their First Amendment right to preach on public ways," said ADF Litigation Staff Counsel Heather Gebelin Hacker.

The lawsuit was filed on Sept. 26, 2007, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.

ADF attorneys were assisted by allied attorney P. Sharkey Burke of the Jackson firm Anderson, Crawley & Burke, P.C.

ADF is a legal alliance defending the right to hear and speak the Truth through strategy, training, funding, and litigation.
