Summary
ADF attorneys filed a friend-of-the-court brief in defense of opening Indiana legislative sessions with an invocation in the name of Jesus. Representatives in the Indiana House nominate religious leaders of various faith to speak by submitting a "Minister of the Day" form. At various times, a Muslim imam, a Jewish rabbi, a layperson and some of the legislators themselves also offered prayers. The ACLU challenged the practice on behalf of four Indiana citizens who objected to the Christian prayers.
