H.E.L.P.S. and Family Life Church v. City of Elgin

Nearly five months after an ADF-allied attorney filed suit against officials of a Chicago suburb for their decision to shutter a Christian homeless ministry, those officials changed course and granted a conditional use permit to the church where the organization operates, allowing it to re-open. Elgin officials shut down the non-profit Hope, Encouragement, Love, Prayer and Salvation (H.E.L.P.S.) charity , which provides homeless in the city with services such as food, counseling and other means of support.
