Kelly Howard

Legal Counsel
Kelly Howard serves as legal counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom, where she is a member of the Center for Conscience Initiatives. Before joining ADF, Howard worked as a litigation associate at a large law firm in Washington, D.C. After law school, Howard served as a law clerk to Judge Leslie H. Southwick of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. During law school, she served as an intern for Judge Dabney L. Friedrich of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. In 2019, Howard earned her J.D. magna cum laude from Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University, where she was executive editor of the George Mason Law Review and a member of the national moot court team. Howard earned her B.A. magna cum laude in Political Science and Communication Studies from Bridgewater College (VA) in 2014. She is a 2019 Blackstone Fellow and a member of the Virginia bar.
