The battle over bathroom privacy continues in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and anywhere there is a Target store.
This week on Freedom Matters, Bob Trent, Kellie Fiedorek, and James Arnold discuss the ongoing events in North Carolina around its new bathroom privacy law, HB2, and North Carolina’s stand to keep bathrooms private and safe despite lawsuits and corporate extortion.
With the ‘Boycott Target’ petition surpassing one million signatures, and moms receiving death threats for speaking out against Target’s new policy of allowing men in women’s restrooms and changing rooms, James talks about what is needed to find middle ground and create a dialog on the issue:
“The petition going on about boycotting Target is a great way to talk about [this issue]. Because whether or not you think you are the sort of person who wants to boycott Target over this issue, at least there is a discussion happening. At least there are people out there who are saying, ‘Look, here are the reasons we are uncomfortable, here's what we don't like, here's what we are doing about it.’ Let's talk about it. Let's figure out what's going on.”
Special guest Dan Bartkowiak of the Pennsylvania Family Institute & Council also joins Freedom Matters this week to talk about Pennsylvania schools and the Pittsburgh School District’s current push to adopt a policy that would allow children to use bathrooms of the opposite sex.
