Lisa Fullerton is the President and CEO of A Novel Idea, dba Auntie Anne’s Pretzels and Cinnabon, which has been a multi-unit franchise operator in San Antonio, Texas since 2000.

Lisa has been heavily involved in serving her community in a variety of capacities. She’s been a supporter and past board member of the San Antonio Clubhouse, which supports adults living with mental health diagnoses. Her business was one of the first San Antonio employers to hire clubhouse members through the group’s first ever Transitional Employment Program. To date, A Novel Idea has employed dozens of clubhouse members, some of whom were homeless when they began to work.

Lisa has also been a small business advocate at the city and state level working with legislators to minimize government oversight, and as a result, sits on Texas Governor Abbott’s Small Business Advisory Task Force. She has received numerous awards and accolades for her work advocating for small businesses and has been featured in several publications highlighting her role as a female business owner and leader. She’s a frequent speaker at events where other business owners are trying to navigate how to run their businesses as a ministry. As a Christ follower, Lisa aligns with organizations that share her faith and belief in religious freedoms. She’s a current member of C12, a commissioned Colson Fellow, and sits on the Texas advisory council of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).

Lisa received her bachelor’s in business administration and accounting from Texas State University. She is married to Jim, and they have five children and three grandchildren. In their spare time they enjoy riding motorcycles in the Texas Hill Country and the West Texas mountains.
