Together, We’re Meeting the Moment

Each generation faces defining moments when they are responsible for acting to protect and advance the God-given freedoms handed down by previous generations.

Today, we are in one of those cultural moments.

Many people are abandoning or outright rejecting basic truths. Government officials charged with securing freedom are silencing views they disagree with.

Now, we’re called to meet this cultural moment with unwavering determination and bold confidence.

But what does meeting the cultural moment mean?

It means standing for the family—God’s cultural building block.

Meeting today’s cultural moment must include a renewed commitment to honoring the family. That starts with protecting the fundamental rights of parents and families.

That includes the right of parents to direct the education and upbringing of their children.

Schools that conceal vital information from parents or lie to children about their bodies are hurting families, violating the God-given right of parents, and harming vulnerable children.

Additionally, governments are turning away parents that are willing to open their hearts and homes to children in need. Why? Because these families hold biblical beliefs and won’t promote the government’s radical view of gender and sexuality.

It means protecting the right to speak freely—without fear of government pressure or punishment.

There is a concerted effort underway to undermine the freedom to speak the truth. From silencing the voices of students to punishing Christian business owners who can’t promote messages they disagree with to using the power of Big Banks to hinder the work of religious ministries.

The First Amendment is a bulwark against any government policy or official seeking to silence or compel you to say or express something that violates your beliefs. Our Founding Fathers knew that the ability to control your own voice was a freedom that was God-given, not a right provided by the government.

Free speech is for everyone—and it’s essential to being able to “speak the truth in love,” as we’re commanded in Ephesians 4:15.

It means standing for truth and rejecting the lies of gender ideology.

When cultural leaders and government officials exchange the truth for a lie, basic rights are threatened, and people face real harm.

When schools and governments tell young people that sex is malleable—that boys can be girls and vice versa—that’s an infectious lie.

It leads to young female athletes losing opportunities they’ve earned through years of hard work and training—upending basic notions of fair competition. It also means female athletes are forced to endure the indignity of sharing a locker room with a male athlete or even a hotel room. Rejecting the unalterable nature of sex also leads to ignoring the real physical harm that could happen on the field.

Meeting the cultural moment also means being committed to victory.

At ADF, we’re not in this for a short-term win or a splashy press release. We’re called to victories that will ensure freedom for generations.

We’re committed to excellence, and we expect astonishing results, knowing that we serve a God who can move mountains—and change the hearts of men and women.

By God’s grace, we’re winning nearly 80% of our cases, and we’ve won 15 cases at the U.S. Supreme Court since 2011.

We’re also helping recruit, train, and enable the next generation of Christian attorneys, journalists, and leaders. If we’re to win in the culture, it must happen inside and outside the courtroom.
