Connecticut Female Athletes Will Finally Be Heard in Court
Four female athletes from Connecticut are still standing for women’s sports. Selina Soule, Chelsea Mitchell, Alanna Smith, and Ashley Nicoletti are challenging a Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) policy that allows men who identify as women to compete in women’s sports.
The CIAC’s policy deprived these girls of recognition for their athletic achievements and caused them to experience the gut-wrenching disappointment of losing in a competition that was unfair from the beginning.
And now, their case will be heard in federal district court in Connecticut on August 15.
Girls across the country are struggling against the reality that gender ideology is threatening their safety and access to fair competition.
That’s why Alliance Defending Freedom will continue to vigorously work to ensure that female athletes in Connecticut—and throughout the country—aren’t forced to compete against male athletes. Currently, 25 states have passed laws that aim to protect fairness in women’s sports—and we hope more states will follow.
Policies that force people to deny reality—like the Biden administration’s new Title IX rules—hurt women.
By forcing people to live the lie that men can become women or vice versa, women’s private spaces such as locker rooms and restrooms are no longer private or safe. Allowing men into women’s sports completely upends fair competition and puts women in harm’s way.
Unjust policies allowing males to compete in women’s athletic programs must not go unchallenged.
Help ensure a strong defense for female athletes today and stand up for the truth about men and women.
You can be an advocate for women and girls across the nation.
Thank you!
