Summary

ADF attorneys submitted a notice of appeal contesting a New York judge’s decision to uphold a directive from the state’s governor regarding same-sex “marriage.” Gov. David Paterson’s directive ordered state agencies to recognize same-sex “marriages” from jurisdictions outside the Empire State, even though such marriages were not legal in 2008. ADF originally filed suit on behalf of the state’s taxpayers and lawmakers.
