This was never just about sports.
This was never just about sports.
OUR MISSION
Alliance Defending Freedom is taking this threat head-on.
Why? Because truth matters. Too many girls have been forced to pay the price of the lie that men can become women.
Alliance Defending Freedom is fighting to make sure the law reflects reality. And we have a proven track record of success, having fought and won numerous battles just like this since 1994.
What happens in the courtroom can affect millions of girls. And it can last for generations.
Together, we can level the playing field:
- ADF represents female athletes and their families at no cost to them. Not one family has ever paid us a dollar for their representation in court.
- Our legal team has stood by dozens of female athletes and won at least eight cases (and counting), including two at the U.S. Supreme Court.
- Twenty-seven states passed laws that keep girls’ sports for girls, most based on ADF’s model language—and we’re fighting for girls in the remaining 23 states right now.
When girls are brave enough to stand up, someone has to be at their side. That’s where the alliance of attorneys, advocates, and you come in to advance truth.
MEET ADALEIA
One girl’s story.
Countless others like it.
Adaleia Cross was 12 years old when a male joined her track team. He was nearly two years younger—but soon he was miles ahead of his female competitors.
Then came the vulgar comments and harassment. The pain, confusion, and disgust.

When Adaleia raised her hand to say something was wrong, the people in charge didn’t do a thing. They expected her to be quiet, be a good sport, and get back out there.
She refused. It cost her friendships, competitive opportunities, and ultimately the sport she loved.
Adaleia is far from the only girl this has happened to. But she is one of the few who wouldn’t be silenced.
MYTH vs TRUTH
“This isn’t happening that much. Very few girls are actually affected by this.”
We hear that a lot. So we counted the number of boys beating girls at their own games.
Take the male athlete who harassed Adaleia: He beat 470 girls more than 1,400 times … in just one sport.
Now think about what that number looks like when you add in every male athlete competing in the women’s category across dozens of sports and all 50 states.
These aren’t just numbers. They’re real girls who trained, who qualified, and who watched their placements on the podium go to someone who never should have been there in the first place.
THE BIG QUESTION
Should being a girl ever cost an athlete first place on a podium?
We agree. Unfortunately, government officials and radical activists don’t. So ADF is challenging the policies that are failing girls and costing them fair competition.
It’s not. No matter how hard a girl trains, or how incredible her raw talent, she can’t beat basic biology. We’re fighting to secure a fair playing field for female athletes—even scoring landmark victories at the U.S. Supreme Court.
That’s why we need rules that reflect reality. So we’re fighting for girls in the places where the rules actually get made.
Male athletes in women’s sports have an unfair advantage. No girl should step onto the playing field or take her place on the starting line knowing that the outcome has already been decided. We’re defending female athletes’ right to safe and fair competition.
Courage is contagious
Every one of these cases starts the same way: One young woman decides the truth is too important, and she will not be silent anymore. Then another stands up. And another. And another.
But it starts with one brave girl willing to tell the truth. She should never have to stand alone.
Because of people like you, she won’t.
TAKE ACTION
Don’t stand on the sidelines. Stand with her.
Millions of girls are still waiting for fair play in their sports. Sign your name to say you side with them.
