Summary

The Arkansas Supreme Court declared Arkansas Act 1, a voter-approved law designed to protect adopted and foster children to be unconstitutional. The law prohibits children from being adopted or placed in the foster home of people living together outside of a marital relationship, regardless of whether the persons are opposite-sex or same-sex individuals.
