No Citizen Should Have to Fund Abortion Facilities. Help Defend Life Today
Praise God! The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, a case about whether states are free to defund Planned Parenthood and other abortion facilities.
The background: In 2018, South Carolina’s governor disqualified Planned Parenthood and similar abortion providers from receiving taxpayers’ Medicaid funds. The governor’s move was consistent with state law that stops taxpayer funds from covering abortions.
But Planned Parenthood wasn’t happy about this and sued the governor.
After the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit ruled in Planned Parenthood’s favor, we appealed to the Supreme Court.
And by God’s grace, the Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case.
Planned Parenthood shouldn’t receive another dime of taxpayer dollars. It’s already rolling in public funding to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars per year.
Plus, the abortion giant has been at the center of multiple scandals, from negotiating the sale of aborted babies’ body parts to covering up the sexual abuse of young girls to being one of our nation’s leading suppliers of so-called “gender transition” hormones that irreversibly damage children.
And as a recent New York Times investigation revealed, patients and employees say clinics operate like “a conveyor belt” for patients, “leading to botched IUD placements and abortions, patients prepped for the wrong procedures, and other errors, according to legal filings, complaints and interviews.”
It’s simple: States should be free to defund Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers.
Medicaid funding was meant to help people get the health care they need—not fund abortion giants like Planned Parenthood.
