Statement of Support for Adaleia Cross
We stand with Adaleia Cross.
Adaleia is a high school athlete who did what young people are taught to do: she worked hard, played by the rules, and spoke up when something was wrong. When school policies put her safety, privacy, and athletic opportunities at risk, she and her family tried to resolve the issue quietly and responsibly. But when they raised concerns, nothing changed.
No student should be forced to sacrifice fairness, dignity, or personal safety just to participate in school sports. No girl should be told that her discomfort, her lost opportunities, or her voice does not matter.
Title IX was created to protect women and girls—to ensure fair competition, equal opportunity, and privacy in educational settings. Those protections must not be weakened or redefined in ways that place girls at a disadvantage or silence their concerns.
We support Adaleia Cross for her courage in standing up—not only for herself, but for countless girls across the country who have lost opportunities or felt unsafe but were afraid to speak.
We also support Alliance Defending Freedom for standing with families when institutions fail to listen, and for defending the rights of women and girls with integrity, compassion, and resolve.
This is not about politics or hostility toward others. It is about fairness. It is about safety. And it is about ensuring that girls are not the ones asked to bear the cost of policies that ignore biological reality and lived harm.
By signing this statement, we affirm:
- That girls deserve fair competition in sports
- That students deserve privacy and safety in schools
- That parents deserve to be heard when they raise legitimate concerns
- And that young women like Adaleia should never stand alone for telling the truth
We stand with Adaleia.
We stand with girls.
And we stand for fairness and truth.
