Abortion groups would like you to think that drugs like mifepristone are as simple to take as Tylenol—virtually risk-free pharmaceuticals with only rare side effects. But this is not the case: Women across the country have suffered serious, even life-threatening, complications such as severe bleeding, infections, and sepsis because the FDA stopped requiring them to see a medical professional in person to screen for life-threatening complications and abuse before using these high-risk drugs. 

The truth is, according to the FDA’s own label, one in 25 women who take abortion drugs as directed will still end up in the emergency room—and that was before the FDA removed the in-person dispensing requirement. And according to the Charlotte Lozier Institute, of the online abortion drug companies that disclose their policies, 81 percent dispense the drugs to women beyond the FDA’s 10-week gestational limit.
