General Counsel
Lauren A. Elkerson serves as General Counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom. In this role, she serves as counsel to ADF as it carries out its organizational mission and leads the corporate counsel team.
Before joining ADF in 2025, Elkerson was the Chief Legal Officer, Corporate Secretary, and Executive Vice President, People at a publicly traded, global professional services firm. In that position, she oversaw global legal affairs, including risk management, compliance, and corporate governance, as well as the organization’s people strategies and function. She served as a strategic member of the executive leadership team and advisor to the board of directors and other members of senior management.
Prior to that role, Elkerson spent nearly eight years at O’Melveny & Myers LLP as a litigator with a heavy focus on employment law. She was named a California “Rising Star” for multiple years by Super Lawyers.
Elkerson earned her bachelor’s degree at Oklahoma State University, summa cum laude, and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, with honors. She is admitted to practice in California, the U.S. Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and various federal district courts.
