Concluded State Appellate Court

Morris v. King

Summary

Judge Nan G. Nash of the New Mexico Second Judicial District ruled that there is no “right more fundamental, more private or more integral to the liberty, safety and happiness of a New Mexican than the right of a competent, terminally ill patient to choose aid in dying.”

The friend-of-the-court brief filed in the New Mexico Court of Appeals supports the reversal of a state judge’s decision to allow doctor-prescribed death. Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys represent five state senators, six members of the state house, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
