A.Q. v. Board of Education of Lindenhurst Union Free School District

A.Q. v. Board of Education of Lindenhurst Union Free School District

Summary

Lindenhurst Union Free School District officials repeatedly denied recognition of a student-led Christian club at Lindenhurst High School. Because of the group’s religious nature, members were barred from meeting in classrooms and were forced to apply for facility access as a “local community organization.” After ADF attorneys filed suit, officials reversed their decision, allowing the club the enjoy the same benefits and privileges as other student groups.
