Many women who take the first drug in the chemical abortion process immediately regret their decision.
Progesterone is a hormone that is naturally produced in the female body. Giving supplemental progesterone to a woman who has taken the first abortion drug can save the life of her unborn baby. In April 2023, however, the state of Colorado enacted a law that prohibits doctors and nurses from providing abortion pill reversal, forcing women to undergo abortions they wish to avoid.
Although Colorado claims to recognize the “fundamental right to continue a pregnancy,” this law actively thwarts women from making that choice, and it makes it illegal for nurses and doctors to assist them or even inform them about their options.
And now, for helping to preserve a baby’s life, Chelsea faces a claim of “professional misconduct.” After assisting Mackenna in reversing her abortion, Chelsea received a letter claiming she was in violation of the law.
Instead of being forced to go through with an abortion against her will, a woman should have the right to make an informed choice about trying to reverse the effects of abortion drugs.
Pro-life pregnancy clinics like Chelsea’s and Bella Health and Wellness should have the freedom to offer this potentially life-saving care to women who request it in alignment with their faith.
Alliance Defending Freedom is standing with these pro-life providers, and we’ve filed a complaint against the state on Chelsea’s behalf.
But as a non-profit, we never charge our clients a dime to defend them in court. That means we’re only able to help clients like Chelsea because of support from faithful Ministry Friends like you.
Will you help fuel our efforts to defend these fundamental freedoms by chipping in whatever you can today?
