Your Support Protects Christian Foster and Adoptive Families

On February 23, 2026, Alliance Defending Freedom announced that the state of Vermont has agreed to change their policy and stop discriminating against Christian families in foster and adoption services. The state’s decision to revoke the foster licenses of the Wuotis and Gantts will be reversed. This is a tremendous victory for religious freedom, families, and kids in need.

However, the battle to protect Christian families from facing discrimination by state foster and adoption agencies isn’t over. And you can help power more cases that can lead to more precedent-setting victories. Wins that ultimately allow loving families to care for children who desperately need a home.

Families like Shane and Jennifer DeGross.

Washington state officials put ideology over the needs of children when they disqualified the DeGrosses from fostering kids over five years of age, after nine years of faithful service. Their crime? As Christians, they couldn’t violate their faith by agreeing to “affirm” a lie (that a boy can become a girl or vice versa) or take a child to a pride parade.

We’re beginning to see victories in cases like the DeGrosses’, but this is no time to relax—we must continue to advocate that government agencies apply the law without discriminating against religious families like Shane and Jennifer.

That’s where you come in.
