Stand Up for Persecuted Christians Now
A text message almost cost Rhoda Jatau everything.
Rhoda, a mother of five in Nigeria, sent a message via WhatsApp, sharing a video that condemned the murder of a Christian university student in Nigeria.
Nigerian authorities ransacked her neighborhood. Then they arrested Rhoda on charges of blasphemy.
Nigeria has some of the most oppressive blasphemy laws in the world. And the primary target of these laws? Christians like Rhoda.
She was held in a Nigerian prison for 19 months. She barely had contact with her lawyer or her family.
But you advocated for her release.
With the help of Ministry Friends, ADF International backed Rhoda’s defense—and finally, two-and-a-half years after her initial arrest—she was acquitted of the charges against her.
Still, the threat of persecution isn’t going away. Even now, more than 380 million Christians around the globe live under high levels of religious persecution.
They may lose their homes, families, and even their lives simply for claiming the name of Jesus.
Your support helps advocate for them, too.
Your gift today will help…
- Defend Christians like Rhoda when their rights are violated by oppressive regimes and officials who are hostile to their faith
- Fight harmful laws and policies that threaten people’s right to live and speak according to their beliefs
- Advance religious freedom at the highest levels of international law and government
Please give today to help defend the persecuted church and protect religious freedom for people across the globe.
Thank you for your generosity!
