Protect the Right to Speak Freely — Your Support Matters Now!

“Freedom of speech is a principal pillar of a free government; when this support is taken away, the constitution of a free society is dissolved, and tyranny is erected on its ruins.”Benjamin Franklin

Alliance Defending Freedom is the world’s largest Christian legal ministry, speaking boldly into the culture for over 30 years.

Our Founding Fathers well understood the importance of free speech. They knew that without the right to speak the truth—boldly and without fear of government pressure or punishment—freedom wouldn’t last.

Those who seek to preserve free speech must stand together now and defend the right to speak freely. Whether that be proclaiming the Gospel or simply expressing commonsense truths, like “boys cannot become girls.”

That truth still echoes today.

Courageous young Americans like Kaley, Lydia, Liam, and Maggie understand this well:

  • Kaley Chiles—A victory in her case could stop a harmful counselor censorship law in Colorado—and it could help roll back 22 similar laws across the country—allowing more children to live in truth and find peace with their bodies.
  • Lydia Booth—during the COVID-19 pandemic, school administrators told 9-year-old Lydia that she couldn’t wear her “Jesus Loves Me” mask. Thanks to support from people like you, she won her case. And as a testament to her conviction, Lydia recently spoke at the Religious Liberty Commission and boldly proclaimed that “God can use even something as small as [my] mask—to help ensure our amazing country remains free.”
  • Liam Morrison—a middle-school student at the time, Liam was told he couldn’t wear his “There are only two genders” t-shirt, despite the school encouraging other students to wear “pride” related apparel. Liam not only courageously stood up to school officials trying to silence him, he even told his story before a school board meeting, defending the right to speak the truth—even if officials disagreed with him.
  • Maggie DeJong—then a graduate student, Maggie was punished by university officials after she spoke her mind and allowed her faith to guide her values in conversations with classmates. Instead of encouraging open conversation and dialogue, they slapped her with “no-contact” orders after some students complained that her speech was “harmful.” Maggie was ultimately vindicated and the university agreed to revise their policy to ensure free speech is protected.

At the heart of every one of these cases is an attempt to deny the God-given right to speak the truth. No government official or policy has the right to deny you that freedom.
