St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School—just as capable and deserving as any secular school—has sought to participate in this charter school program. However, because St. Isidore is faith-based, it now finds itself embroiled in a legal battle initiated by Oklahoma’s attorney general, who is actively attempting to block its inclusion based on the school’s religious nature.
This case transcends the interests of St. Isidore or even the state of Oklahoma. It embodies a critical fight against religious discrimination, which the U.S. Constitution fundamentally rejects.
The First Amendment demands that religious entities and individuals be treated equally in government programs.
