Stand for free speech in pro-life pregnancy centers

Jean Marie Davis wants to “help women, as I was helped.”

Jean Marie is the Director at Branches Pregnancy Resource Center in Vermont. She feels called to share the love and good news of Jesus with everyone, especially other women who are in the same situation she faced years ago: pregnant and alone.

Branches focuses on providing resources—physical, emotional, and spiritual—to pregnant women.

They provide food, clothing, diapers, baby toys, highchairs, and parent training classes, along with support groups for those addicted to drugs and alcohol. They’re a pro-life, Christian organization, but they minister to all women in need, regardless of what these women believe.

In 2023, Vermont passed a law aimed at pregnancy centers and their advertising. The worst part—the new law only applies to centers that don’t provide abortions. Any pro-abortion clinic is still legally allowed to advertise its services.

This statute violates the free-speech rights of pregnancy centers, like Branches, in the state.

Vermont’s law reflects a growing trend of attacks on pregnancy centers around the country since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade

That’s why we’re standing with Branches, one other Vermont pregnancy care center, and a pregnancy center network in a lawsuit to challenge this unconstitutional law.

As a non-profit, we never charge our clients a dime to defend them in court. That means we’re only able to help clients like Jean Marie because of support from generous Americans like you.

Will you help fuel our efforts to defend free speech by chipping in whatever you can today?
