Thank You for Standing with Us to Defend Educational Freedom and Religious Liberty

Religious organizations deserve the same access to public benefit programs as other private organizations—equally and without discrimination.

This principle led the Oklahoma Statewide Charter School Board to approve St. Isidore of Seville Virtual Catholic School’s charter application. The school met all qualifying criteria and offered disadvantaged children in the state an excellent educational opportunity.

However, newly elected Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond filed a lawsuit to exclude St. Isidore from the charter-school program solely because it is religious.

This case is not just about St. Isidore—it’s about standing against discrimination against people of faith.

And winning this case could impact every American. If the Court agrees that St. Isidore deserves to be treated just like its secular counterparts, it could open the door for faith-based charter schools across the country.

That would be a significant win for both religious freedom and school choice.

As one Oklahoma parent says, “I’ve never heard a parent say, ‘Oh, I want less choice for my kids on what their education options are.’”

The U.S. Constitution and the highest court in the land have laid down the law: the First Amendment protects freedom of religion. And no state official can thwart it. It’s critical that the Supreme Court affirm this principle again.

Through the generous support of our Ministry Friends, we can continue fighting cases like this to protect religious freedom.
