Equal Opportunity or Religious Discrimination?
St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School wants to be part of Oklahoma’s charter-school program, and it’s just as qualified as any non-religious charter school.
So Oklahoma’s Statewide Charter School Board accepted St. Isidore’s application, treating it the same as any non-religious charter school. That result would have offered another high-quality, no-cost educational option to underprivileged families across the state.
But because St. Isidore is religious, Oklahoma’s attorney general sued to exclude St. Isidore from the program. And the Oklahoma Supreme Court sided with the attorney general.
That’s restricting options for Oklahoma students and families.
What’s more, that’s religious discrimination!
