Joshua L. Rogers joined ADF in 2023

Joshua Rogers serves as senior counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom’s Center for Life, where he litigates matters involving constitutional freedoms and the sanctity of life.

Rogers is a 17-year veteran of the U.S. Department of Justice. During his time at the DOJ, he served as an Assistant United States Attorney in two U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and as a trial attorney in the Civil Rights Division.

Rogers argued 25 times before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. and Fourth Circuits and filed over 100 briefs in those courts. He also appeared countless times before U.S. district courts, serving as trial counsel, litigating motions, conducting discovery, working with expert witnesses, negotiating settlements, and leading on-the-ground investigations nationwide.

Rogers is the author of the book Confessions of a Happily Married Man: Finding God in the Messiness of Marriage. As a commentator on faith and family issues, he has appeared on Fox and Friends, the Fox News Roundup, and the Focus on the Family daily broadcast. His written work has been featured at Fox News Opinion, the Washington Post, Christianity Today, the Washington Examiner, and Focus on the Family Magazine.

Rogers served as a law clerk to former Mississippi Supreme Court Chief Justice William L. Waller, Jr. Rogers received his law degree from the University of Mississippi and received his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is admitted to practice before various federal courts of appeals and district courts.
