Glynis Gilio

Legal Counsel


Glynis Gilio serves as legal counsel on the Parental Rights team at Alliance Defending Freedom.

Before joining ADF, Gilio contributed to the litigation efforts of numerous public interest law firms including the Institute for Free Speech, Freedom Foundation, Goldwater Institute, and Pacific Legal Foundation. She also completed inaugural fellowships with The Heritage Foundation and The Fund for American Studies. In 2021, the Scharf-Norton Center for Constitutional Litigation recognized Gilio as the John Norton Distinguished Fellow for her excellence and leadership in constitutional litigation.

Gilio graduated magna cum laude with a J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law in 2021 and cum laude from Hillsdale College in 2018. As a law student, Gilio was a member of several organizations including the Federalist Society, First Amendment Law Clinic, and Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute. In addition, she contributed to numerous textbooks on legal writing, including Just Briefs: Preparing for Practice, Fourth Edition and The Legal Writing Handbook: Analysis, Research, and Writing, Eighth Edition as a Research Assistant for Professor Jeremy Francis.

Gilio is admitted to practice law in Virginia and the District of Columbia.
