Last Updated: 5/29/2020

Overview

Summary

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit ruled that an ordinance restricting the distribution of religious literature in Granite City, Ill., is unconstitutional. ADF-allied attorney Jason Craddock filed suit in 2005 on behalf of Donald Horina, a Christian who was fined for placing a tract through the open window of a private vehicle. He received a citation based on an ordinance forbidding public distribution of handbills. He was fined under a separate ordinance after the charge was amendment.
