Supreme Court of the United States

Croft v. Perry

Last Updated: 5/29/2020

Overview

Summary

Two Texas parents challenged a state law that allows public school students to observe one minute of silence following recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. In 2009, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit upheld the law. ADF, along with ally Liberty Legal Institute, filed friend-of-the-court briefs in the case. LLI also represented the schoolchildren in a hearing before the court.
