This Giving Tuesday, Give the Gifts of Life, Strong Families, and the Freedom to Live Out Your Faith

October 17, 2017
By: Emily Conley

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season and the flurry of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday allows you to get back to the true joy of the Christmas season.

It is a day to think about Christmas giving in a different way – to reflect on the significance of the gifts of the magi to their King. Giving Tuesday allows you to refocus your Christmas-list strategy and to give a gift that really matters – a gift that could count for eternity.

Your gift to Alliance Defending Freedom today is a gift that will keep on giving.

We defend life from conception to natural death, work to restore a strong culture of marriage and family, and advocate for religious freedom. It’s our goal to keep the door open for the gospel.

A Gift to ADF is a Gift to Defend Life.

When the Bracy Family’s insurance provider cancelled their plan, they were forced to purchase insurance from the Connecticut Obamacare exchange, but every plan included a mandatory abortion surcharge – a fee that would require them to pay for other people to kill babies in the womb.

As a result of a lawsuit we brought on behalf of the Bracy Family, two weeks ago the Federal Government and Connecticut added new coverage plans that do not fund abortion. Now pro-life people in Connecticut can take care of their own family’s healthcare without paying to destroy unborn lives.

A Gift to ADF is a Gift to Build Strong Marriages and Families.

Our attorneys have been tirelessly advocating to the courts for the right of the people to affirm marriage as the union of one man and one woman. God’s design for marriage is the future, the foundation on which strong families and a strong society can be built.

We were thrilled with the Sixth Circuit’s recent decision affirming that states are not constitutionally required to fundamentally alter the meaning of marriage. People of good will may disagree on whether redefining marriage is good or bad policy, but the Constitution doesn’t answer the question, and it certainly doesn’t require that policy decisions be taken out the hands of the people. And children should have the opportunity to grow up with both a mom and a dad.

A Gift to ADF is a Gift to Restore Religious Freedom.

When 5th grader Katie Ayers was told by school administrators that she couldn’t give her friends invitations to a church Christmas party during non-instructional time at school, Alliance Defending Freedom defended her religious freedom in court. We won a victory that secured greater freedom for school children in three states. Since that time, Katie has been able to invite her school friends to church – one of those friends came to church with Katie and accepted Jesus as her savior.

Your gift will immediately be used to help people like Katie, the Bracy Family, and others who are brave enough to stand up for their faith.

Thank you for your generous gift to defend life, build strong marriages and families, and restore religious freedom!

The Equality Act Risks the Rights of Every American

What many supporters of the bill won't tell you is that if passed, the Equality Act would pave the way for dangerous policies which could undermine fairness and freedom.
