Wittig approached her mom with questions about sex in high school, she
didn’t leave the conversation with many answers.
So she turned elsewhere. Her sister – who is eight years
older – pointed her to the local Planned Parenthood. They gave Blayne her first
month of birth control pills and sent her on her way.
This began Blayne’s relationship with Planned Parenthood,
fostered by once-a-month visits for her supply of birth control. As Blayne got
older, it became natural to see Planned Parenthood’s encouragement of teens
being sexually active as helpful.
So when she found out she was pregnant as a 19-year-old
college student, it wasn’t such a surprise when the nurse at the campus health
center pointed her to Planned Parenthood. They had strategically positioned
themselves to be there for her in the past, so it made sense that Planned
Parenthood would be there now in the face of an unplanned pregnancy. When she
was feeling desperate and not sure where to turn, she quickly accepted the
first and only option that was presented to her, an abortion.
It's not an uncommon story.
Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood employee, is
intimately familiar with how Planned Parenthood turns children into clients.
Planned Parenthood is more than happy to answer your
children’s questions. They push sex education in public schools as early
as kindergarten. Over time, they build a relationship with students and begin
promoting everything from sexual
activity between minors to abortion.
Not only that, but they often encourage children not to talk
to their parents about these issues and even help them conceal information from
their parents. As Abby shared, the Planned Parenthood that she worked at would
give out birth control to girls as young as 10 or 11 years old.
Planned Parenthood even filed
a lawsuit against an Alaska law that simply required parental notification
when an underage girl requested an abortion. Wouldn’t you want to know if your
daughter was making such a life-changing decision – for both herself and her
On top of all of that, Planned Parenthood has also been known
to cover up sexual assault, performing abortions on the victims and failing
to report the incident to police.
Is that really the type of organization you want your
children getting information from?
Blayne, now a wife and mother of three, is passionate about
educating her children – being open and honest with them about their questions.
After all, she knows that the questions will come. And she
wants to make sure she’s the one to answer them.
