Tomorrow, oral arguments will be taking place before the Washington state Supreme Court in Barronelle Stutzman’s case – the Washington florist who was sued for declining to provide custom floral arrangements for a long-time customer’s same-sex wedding because of her religious beliefs about marriage.

Barronelle wrote a piece that was published in The Spokesman Review over the weekend, explaining why every American should be concerned about the outcome of her case:

“Does anyone really believe that a government that gives itself the power to force people to believe (and not believe) things and can order artists to create state-sanctioned messages will only use that power to bend one small-town florist to its will – and then leave everyone else alone?”
